My copyediting approach included:
Checking for and correcting:
- Errors in grammar, spelling, syntax, and punctuation.
- Technical consistency in capitalization, font usage, hyphenation, and spelling consistency (UK-US spelling).
Line-editing focused on:
- Improving word choice.
- Rewriting and restructuring in conjunction with the French version of the article provided (by adding remarks in the comment section of the word document).
- Checking the readability of the article ensuring that the reader can grasp the writer’s argumentation.
- Checking for redundancies, tone of voice, flow, and coherence.
